This year, horological enthusiasts once again looked forward with great anticipation to the watch and jewellery fairs held in april in Basel and Geneva. The trend towards luxury items with the “swiss made” label enjoying particular popularity among buyers was confirmed in an impressive way. A new, self-assured clientele, above all from russia and asia, manifested themselves, and all the exhibition stands spoke of record sales.

For many years, the sales figures in the watch and clock industry have been in the two-digit region, and a similar growth is once again anticipated for this year. Therefore, all interested customers are warned that there may well be substantial bottlenecks in delivery this year, which unfortunately does nothing to alleviate the fact that Beyer still has a delivery backlog from last year of several hundred watches.
