Fair news 2009

The 2009 watch and jewellery fairs are over, and despite the current economic crisis exhibitors found them to be a success. The SIHH in Geneva presented its latest creations in January and Baselworld in April. The ambience was surprisingly pleasant and relaxed. The volume of orders matched expectations, particularly in the upper luxury segment.

All the indications are that 2009 will be a year of consolidation, after the unprecedented interest in technical and precious watches of recent years had taken the sector to a level which no one could reasonably expect to continue into 2009.
