The Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie in Geneva and the Baselworld Watch and Jewellery Show presented their latest creations to the general public in January and at the end of March 2011 respectively. While once again many interesting innovations could be admired, no uniform trend manifested itself. Many manufactures have made minor modifications to their products, thus ensuring that their timepieces remain young, attractive and contemporary. 

As before, white gold, platinum and red gold dominate among the materials used. Moreover, last year's trend towards smaller and more feminine ladies’ watches has continued.
