The Beyer Watch

The design of this watch emulates the giant timepiece that hangs outside the Beyer shop. It has served as a trademark for decades, and can be seen from a long way off on the Bahnhofstrasse.

Vernissage for our “Chronograph” special exhibition

06/30/2017

We celebrated the opening of our current special exhibition, “‘Chronograph’ In the Course of Time”, with a vernissage. Monika Winkler, curator of our Clock and Watch Museum, had organised the exhibition in collaboration with Sébastien Chaulmontet. After René Beyer had welcomed the guests, the two talked about these highly coveted complications in more detail. Most of the watches on show come from Sébastien Chaulmontet’s own collection. He is an avid fan of these timepieces and together with Joël Pynson has written an informative and beautifully illustrated book entitled “Chronographs for collectors”. This publication is available at our Clock and Watch Museum at a price of CHF 160. It is written in English and French, with a summary in German.

The vernissage went on until after 8.00pm. There was a pleasant atmosphere and our guests were fascinated by the chronographs.
