The Beyer Watch

The design of this watch emulates the giant timepiece that hangs outside the Beyer shop. It has served as a trademark for decades, and can be seen from a long way off on the Bahnhofstrasse.

Visit by Commerce Minister Chen Deming

01/15/2011

Following the World Economic Forum 2011, China's Minister of Commerce, Chen Deming, paid a visit to the Beyer Clock and Watch Museum. He arrived with his entire delegation and was highly interested in the exhibits, frequently asked questions and inspected the items very closely. He also wanted to know why it was that the Swiss specialised in clock- and watchmaking. The museum curator, Monika Leonhardt, gave Switzerland’s lack of natural resources as a major reason. Mr Deming was a very charming visitor, and René Beyer was thrilled at the great honour of being able to welcome him to our museum.
