The Beyer Watch

The design of this watch emulates the giant timepiece that hangs outside the Beyer shop. It has served as a trademark for decades, and can be seen from a long way off on the Bahnhofstrasse.

Michel Fornasier at the Clock and Watch Museum

06/22/2017

On 22 June, we invited guests to an exclusive talk on the commonalities between delicate watch movements and the fine motor skills of bionic hand prostheses. René Beyer and Balgrist Ambassador, Michel Fornasier, spoke about the common ground between and the synergies and complexity of these two fascinating worlds. The evening was rounded off with a visit by NAO and PEPPER, which as humanoid robots are setting new standards in the field of social robotics. Mrs Claudia Campera from Avatarion, the company that developed the robots, elaborated on the theme of building bridges between man and machine. Our guests were enthralled; after all, it is not every day that you get the chance to dance with a robot!
