Visit to Jaeger-LeCoultre
Visit to the Jaeger-LeCoultre manufactory
The history of the watch manufacturer, Jaeger-LeCoultre, started 175 years ago in Le Sentier, in the sleepy Vallée de Joux. Since then, numerous inventions and innovations have made the company renowned over the world.
End of June 2008, together with a small group of like-minded clock and watch enthusiasts, we had the opportunity to visit the Jaeger-LeCoultre manufacture. We were given an insight into the production of watches in Le Sentier, and discovered just how many pieces are necessary to create these watches. During our tour, it became clear that the manufacture of such exclusive objects is not just very time-consuming, but also requires a great deal of intuition.
We enjoyed a warm, personal welcome by Jaeger-LeCoultre and our taste buds were truly pampered with excellent food. We all agreed that the entire programme was a resounding success.
