The Beyer Watch

The design of this watch emulates the giant timepiece that hangs outside the Beyer shop. It has served as a trademark for decades, and can be seen from a long way off on the Bahnhofstrasse.

Donald S. Beyer is running for Congress

05/27/2014

Don Beyer, US Ambassador in Switzerland 2009-2013, is running for Congress in Virginia's 8th congressional district in Northern Virginia. Don Beyer would be a great addition to the House of Representatives. He would also be great for Switzerland with his deep knowledge of the relationship between the two countries and his empathy for Switzerland. We keep our fingers crossed for Don's success. Please find out more at friendsofdonbeyer.com.

Towards the end of his four-year term of service, the United States Ambassador to Switzerland, Donald S. Beyer, visited his namesake, René Beyer, at the Beyer Clock and Watch Museum. René Beyer has a great affinity for America. He has very pleasant memories of San Francisco where, shortly after completing his training, he worked for 1½ years. Donald S. Beyer, in turn, is enthralled with Switzerland and particularly loves the mountains. However, he is naturally also fascinated by the Swiss horological industry, and was very interested in the Museum’s exhibits illustrating the development of the clock and watch.
