The partnership between Patek Philippe and Beyer Chronometrie dates back to the Geneva-based manufacturer's earliest years. It is the longest-standing relationship forged by either company – and, since the Stern family took over Patek Philippe in 1932, one of the most personal: the two have always been connected by more than just business. And so Beyer Chronometrie – and Zurich – was awarded the honour in July 2011 of opening the first (and to-date only) retailer-managed Patek Philippe Boutique in Switzerland. A four-strong team ensures that nothing is left to chance in creating an atmosphere of sophistication. They look forward to anticipating your every wish.
Patek Philippe and Beyer have harboured the desire to jointly operate a boutique in Zurich for many years. Already two generations earlier, Henry Stern and Theodor Beyer had nurtured this dream, which has finally come true.
All the sales staff at Beyer’s Patek Philippe Boutique have attended and passed the four-stage training course to become Patek Philippe brand representatives. They know not only the watch models but also Patek Philippe’s history inside out and have taken the company’s values to heart. The Beyer team were trained by Patek Philippe instructors during several workshops. The training course was concluded with a four-day trip to Geneva, including a guided tour of the manufactory and the final exam.
Three of our watchmakers also underwent several weeks of intensive training in Geneva at Patek Philippe. Each module lasted four weeks, whereby several modules were offered. The company’s senior management decides who can attend these courses. At the end of each module, participants are required to sit a demanding exam, and can only attend the next course after several years of practical experience. Only watchmakers who have successfully completed these courses are permitted to service Patek Philippe watches and order spare parts.
For the boutique's fifth anniversary, Patek Philippe has produced a limited edition of the rare and coveted Annual Calendar Ref. 5205 G-011 with a blue dial. Just 25 of the watches are available exclusively at our boutique in Zurich. This elegant watch is manufactured in white gold and features an automatic movement and a moon phase indicator.
For Beyer, Patek Philippe has made an exception and is presenting a special double-name jubilee-edition watch as the pre-production series to the “Ref. 5170-001”. The “Ref. 5170-010” timepieces recall the Patek Philippe chronographs of the 1940s, which are among the most highly sought-after objects at auctions.
The watch is equipped with such special features as a tachymeter and an additional solid gold back with a jubilee engraving. Naturally, the exclusive wooden presentation box also contains the story of the very special links between Patek Philippe and Beyer, as well as a certificate confirming the limited edition. After all, there are only 50 of these watches in existence. Unfortunately, all of them have already been sold.
