Flower clock sports a new winter look
The famous flower clock at Bürkliplatz, donated by Beyer to the city of Zurich in 1985, is now sporting a fascinating new winter look. The clock face, which measures five metres in diameter, is adorned with a spiral pattern. The spiral is found in all mechanical timepieces in the form of a balance spring, which works together with the balance wheel to control the speed of movement of the watch parts.Gardener René Lutz from Maur is responsible for the new design, for which he used a variety of natural stones.
