In the wake of the reunification of Germany, Walter Lange bravely resumed the family tradition that many believed had been lost for ever. On 7 December 1990, 145 years to the day after his great-grandfather Adolph Lange had so courageously taken the pioneering step of establishing the watchmaking firm of Lange, Walter Lange arrived in the East German city of Glashütte, where he set up a new company, Lange Uhren GmbH.
Before long, Walter Lange had assembled a core team comprising the finest craftsmen in Glashütte. In 1994, the first watches bearing the illustrious name of "A. Lange & Söhne" were launched on the market. Since then, the firm has continued to grow steadily and has been responsible for creating a great many masterpieces.
