Beyer Tourbillon

This highly exclusive tourbillon – created in a limited edition of just two pieces – was designed especially for Beyer by René Beyer and Aerowatch. Besides the tourbillon function, the watch features another impressive complication: twin mainspring barrels with a five-day power reserve. The design emulates Beyer’s trademark – the giant watch that hangs outside the Beyer shop.

The tourbillon is considered the ultimate in the art of watchmaking, for it counteracts gravity, enabling it to achieve top-level precision. The price for this gain in regulating stability is high, for the manufacture of a tourbillon, as well as servicing and regulating it, is extremely challenging. In return, the view of a rotating tourbillon through a window in the watch face is enough to make any watch enthusiast’s heart beat faster.
So how does a tourbillon work? You can find out in the latest issue of our customer magazine, beyond.
