The Beyer Watch

The design of this watch emulates the giant timepiece that hangs outside the Beyer shop. It has served as a trademark for decades, and can be seen from a long way off on the Bahnhofstrasse.

Fair News 2018

This year, too, the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) in Geneva gave an insight into the current situation of the watch industry. And this showed that the SIHH’s optimism was justified: six new brands took part in 2018, bringing the total number of exhibitors to 35. These had the opportunity to welcome the main players from the international watch scene.

In terms of designs, two trends in particular manifested themselves. Many brands are focusing on optimising their classic lines – often with lower priced, stainless steel models for first-time owners. In addition, the vintage theme is more popular than ever. For example, Jaeger-LeCoultre relaunched its cult collection Memovox Polaris, IWC celebrated its 150th anniversary with 27 special limited-edition timepieces, and Cartier presented a modified version of its Santos line, enabling the wristbands to be easily changed.
