Fair news 2012

Once again, a wealth of interesting new creations were presented at this year's watch and jewellery fairs in Basel and Geneva. In particular, three trends dominated:

Inner values: Female clientele, too, are becoming increasingly fascinated by complicated automatic movements. As a result, virtually all the major brands are now catering to this need by creating feminine mechanical ladies’ watches, many of which have been designed with the help of women.

Retro trend: Almost all the leading brands have drawn their inspiration for a good third of their portfolios from the 1960s and 1970s. The retro trend has firmly established itself in the watch collections of today.

Safety: There is no experimenting with shapes, colours or new materials. Instead, the industry is focusing on optimising proven products, thus creating lasting values.
