Hublot
The art of fusion
When, in 1980, Carlo Crocco, creator of the Hublot watch brand, enclosed a quartz movement in a gold casing and attached a strap made from natural rubber, the experts predicted that the success of this chronograph would be short-lived. However, the watch succeeded in establishing itself firmly in the market and was reinterpreted a quarter of a century later by Jean-Claude Biver, who has been ruling over the brand since 2004. As a result, a modern philosophy has emerged from what was once deemed an unlikely union, a concept known as Fusion - fusion of a wide variety of materials, fusion of the traditional with the modern.
The first Big Bang, as the new collection is called, is a fusion of stainless steel, ceramic, resin, titanium and rubber. Since then, various models have been crafted using all manner of materials. However, the legendary rubber strap will always remain the watchword of this futuristic timepiece.
