Jaeger-LeCoultre
The grand watchmaking tradition
Jaeger-LeCoultre was founded in 1833 in Le Sentier, in the beautiful Vallée de Joux, by Antoine LeCoultre. In 1903, it joined forces with a chronometer manufacturer from Paris called Edmond Jaeger, thus laying the foundation stone for the Jaeger-LeCoultre manufacture, which still flourishes today. At that time, the firm invented the world`s flattest pocket watch, with a thickness of just 1.38 mm – an achievement that has remained unparalleled to this day. Since then, many other inventions have left the Jaeger-LeCoultre workshop over the course of the years.
One of the trademarks of Jaeger-LeCoultre is its «Reverso» watch collection. When the housing is turned over, it reveals a beautifully decorated base or a second face with a different design from the first, which is sometimes set with mother-of-pearl and diamonds.
