Georges Piaget founded the «Ateliers de la Côte-aux-Fées» in 1874 for the purpose of producing movements for renowned watch brands. Over the years, Piaget`s company amassed such a wealth of experience and was so successful that in 1940 it decided to identify its creations with its own name and to conquer the world markets with its own brand of watches.
In the early days, one of the firm`s specialities was its mastery of the extra-flat movement, and even today this innovation inspires the firm`s watchmakers to bring forth their finest creations. The real design breakthrough started in the early 1960s with the manufacture of extravagant, colourful masterpieces.
