Steps in servicing quartz watches

Complete servicing – i.e. thorough overhaul and repair – comprises the following:

Check the housing and strap/bracelet
Remove the movement
Remove the hand mechanism and the calendar movement (if appropriate), as well as the grip between the wheels
Completely disassemble the movement
Replace defective working parts in accordance with cost estimate
Clean all mechanical parts with a special machine
Check the parts and, if necessary, replace the jewel bearings
Reassemble the individual working parts of the movement; adjust and correct the play between the wheels
Oil the wheels
Check the electronic parts
Replace the battery
Check the function of the movement
Assemble the face and fingers
Polish the housing (gold and stainless steel housings)
Clean the housing and strap/bracelet
Renew all seals
Install the movement in the housing
Check watertight watches for water-tightness
Check for accuracy
Check the watch in various different positions
Final check by the workshop
