A. Lange & Söhne: Terraluna
A. Lange & Söhne presented in Paris its absolute tour de force from this year’s innovations: the Richard Lange Perpetual Calendar, “Terraluna”. It was in Paris that during his journeyman years from 1837 until 1841 Ferdinand A. Lange studied astronomy and the craft of precise watchmaking, thus laying the foundations for the horological creations he later produced back home and for the establishment of his manufacture.
A. Lange & Söhne offered a programme of superlatives. Over a period of three days, specially invited guests from all over the world experienced a host of culinary and cultural highlights. The best one of all, however, was the presentation of this spectacular watch. Besides the perpetual calendar, the timepiece also features on the back a moon-phase display showing the positions of the moon and sun as an observer in the northern hemisphere would see them.
