Official opening of the exhibition

05/05/2014

AHCI – this acronym stands for Académie Horlogère des Créateurs Indépendents (Horological Academy of Independent Creators).

On Monday evening, 15 members of the AHCI celebrated the official opening of their exhibition at the Beyer Clock and Watch Museum. In their speeches, founder members Svend Andersen and Vincent Calabrese clearly outlined what it took to belong to the AHCI: meticulous craftsmanship, exceptional creativity and an ardent desire to make the impossible possible.

The invited guests and media representatives admired the outstanding creations and listened spellbound as those AHCI members present explained their works in more detail. In a nutshell, the exhibition is a demonstration of pure passion – all the exhibitors share an unremitting desire to create innovative objects and make the seemingly impossible possible. Miki Eleta goes so far as to say that he would never dream of selling some of his creations: “They constantly remind me to keep on trying over and over again and to never give up”. This fascinating event at the Beyer Clock and Watch Museum was rounded off with an excellent cocktail dînatoire served by the Restaurant Carlton.
