Panning for gold in the Napf region
Standing in the water and panning for gold: awaiting our clients were not evening dress and champagne, but hard work and Wellington boots. However, the atmosphere could hardly have been better. With much excitement and enthusiasm, everyone set about their strenuous work in a ruggedly romantic stream in the Napf region in Canton Lucerne. Our gold diggers shovelled up the sand and washed it in a pan. The material was also sifted in a metal sluice positioned in a favourable spot in the stream – and the heavier gold particles remained in the sluice. The prospectors were able to take home with them a certificate and a jar containing the gold they had found. A very successful event, at which naturally – in true Beyer style – the culinary aspect also played an important part.
