Review and outlook
Beyer Chronometrie AG closed the 2014 business year with a gratifying result. Thanks to our loyal Swiss customers, who generated a considerably greater volume of sales during the past year, we almost succeeded in matching last year’s sales figure. As a token of our thanks, we regularly invite select groups of clients to interesting events, such as museum exhibitions, manufactory tours and – new from this year – visits to Zurich Opera House, with which we have entered into a new sponsoring agreement.
And how do things look for 2015? There are a number of trouble spots in Europe and the world, yet on the whole the watch industry is comfortably placed. After the positive final spurt in December 2014, we are anticipating a good year. Switzerland’s economy is in promising shape, it is creating jobs and is regarded by tourists as a safe haven. However, the market environment in Zurich is difficult. Numerous watch stores and boutiques are being opened, which is exacerbating the situation. Nevertheless, we are looking to the future with optimism and are confident that we will be able to replicate the positive events of the past year.
