An era is coming to an end.

Beyer Uhren & Juwelen on Zurich’s Bahnhofstrasse is the world’s oldest watch shop, founded in 1760.

An era steeped in tradition is drawing to a close, whilst at the same time a new chapter is beginning. Beyer Uhren & Juwelen, the world’s oldest watch shop, will undergo a transformation by the end of 2026. From the start of 2027, our historic premises on Bahnhofstrasse will be taken over by the renowned Geneva-based watchmaker Patek Philippe and will continue to operate as an exclusive Patek Philippe salon.

Since 1996, René Beyer and Muriel Zahn-Beyer, representing the eighth generation, have shaped the history of the company. In 2024, René Beyer handed over the management of the business to his sister, Muriel Zahn-Beyer, already aware of the succession arrangement with Patek Philippe. Following the passing of René Beyer in 2025, Muriel Zahn-Beyer has been managing the business together with the Board of Directors.

Our primary aim is, and always will be, to ensure that the transition is as seamless as possible for you and to place this centuries-old legacy in the very best of hands. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your long-standing loyalty.
